Choir Technik STU
The Choir Technik STU was established in 1956 at the Slovak University of Technology (STU) in Bratislava. Beside the many concerts and CD recordings the choir has presented several world premieres of prestigious Slovak composers (Peter Martinček, Pavol Šimai, Ľuboš Bernáth, etc.) in cooperation with prominent Slovak conductors (Rastislav Štúr, Martin Majkút, Oliver Dohnányi, etc.). One of the highlights in the history of the choir was a concert with Dmitri Hvorostovsky in Bratislava conducted by Constantine Orbelian. Currently, the choir is led by conductor, Petra Torkošová. Since its establishment and over its years of existence, Technik has been studying and interpreting many masterpieces of both Slovak and foreign composers, and several concerts have been organized in cooperation with the Slovak Philharmonic.
If you would like to join the choir (our rehearsals are from September to June each Mon and Thu; 7:00-9:00 PM at the Slovak University of Technology in the building at Imricha Karvaša street, Bratislava) or have some additional questions, do not hesitate to contact us at: zbor.technik@gmail.com; +421 914 194 026. Please contact us by e-mail before you would like to come.
The choir also has a tutorial library in English with compositions of Slovak composers, which are part of the choir repertoire and might be the most challenging for non-Slovak speakers.
